Japanese Maples, The Dwarf Acers
I have been known to rant about how people should try to include more native plants in their garden. However, I would never dissuade someone from including a Japanese maple in your garden, on the contrary, I would I recommend warmly.
History and color
The image of a Japanese maple in full leaf brings to my mind images of oriental calm, always water and mountains covered with moss. This elegant plant is a separate part of the culture and consciousness of his native Japan through its use in horticulture and art. In the year 1800, more than 200 varieties of this plant have been recorded in Japan, this figure has increased over the Next 100 years, only to have these figures struck again to 200 by the maelstrom of World War II. Japanese maples also known as Acer palmatum and Acer japonicum are diminutive in stature compared to other trees. what happened to my Japanese Maple?
I have a Japanese maple that has grown about 3 years now and is doing well, but this year it was like death, but now he has leaves growing from the bottom up is bare.
