The Importance Of Hammock Straps
There are many companies that make hammocks and, in order to stay in business, these companies need to make quality parts that will last for a long time. Each part of a hammock has to be correct or the hammock will break.
The most critical parts of a hammock are the hammock straps. The straps hold the hammock to two points and must be strong enough to support the person and the hammock while being tied at varying angles and to various objects.
The hammock straps do more work than any other parts of the hammock. They are constantly being tied and untied to trees, poles and other like objects. Trees can begin to fray the straps and cause the hammock to fail. The hammock straps must be thick enough to hold a lot of weight but supple enough to be tied over and over again.
The other part of the hammock straps to be considered is the length of each strap. If they are too short they won’t be very useful, and if they are too long they are costing extra money and material. All of these things must be considered when thinking about the importance of hammock straps.
Reasons For Hammock Straps To Fail
Anything that is made by man will sometimes fail. The best engineering along with the best plans can’t stop failure. That’s why hammock manufacturers took extra care to make sure the straps wouldn’t fail unless they came under extreme conditions. This allows the product to be used by a wide variety of people and it will not break under normal conditions.
Hammock straps do fail sometimes, however, and for various reasons. Most of the time, hammock straps fail because of the customer not following directions or not using common sense while using the hammock.
For example, leaving the straps tied to a tree all year long while being exposed to the harsh elements of the outdoors can weaken the straps and cause them to fail. The straps can become dry rotted and can potentially snap.
Another thing that can make hammock straps fail is abusing the straps. If the customer ties the straps to whatever is available, then some things will begin to tear apart and eventually break. Also, leaving knots in the straps will over-stress the nylon or cotton and cause the straps to break down internally and weaken to the point of failure while the customer is laying in the hammock. The customer can have a long lasting high quality hammock if they take care of it and use basic common sense.
Theres two mesh straps with some sort of hook on the end of my 07frontier bed extender what are those for?use?
So on my 07 frontier crew cab, the bed extender has two mesh straps with a square type of closed hook (don’t know what to call it) on each corner of the bed extender. I’m not sure what they are for, one obvious use would be to tie something down with it, but a mesh strap seems a bit to weak for something like that. So can anyone who owns a frontier tell me what its for? thanks!
Those round parts on the end of the straps fasten down the bed extender to the tail gate latches one per side. Push the round part into the latch it’ll snap in. You’ll have to reach under the tail gate to unlatch the extender. Some times the owner installs the bed extender upside down. Straps are on the bottom nearest the bed. Come on you really did not know that?

Driver Nvidia to uninstall Vista Premium!?
does anyone know why my nvidia driver mysteriously uninstalled? is the thing ... I went down Crysis Warhead installed, it played a little ... but it kept crashing my pc so I guess it's my drivers needed to update or my card was too hot. so I stopped playing. checked my temp cards etc. .. Then I went to bed. I use my computer as an alarm clock so I expect he woke in the morning he didn't ... Instead, he was mysteriously standby ... and he wouldnt wake up. if the alarm never went off ... I restart the computer and it starts in 640x480 resolution and my screen saver, time zone (clock), and display settings (no two monitors) has been changed. It was as if my computer was back a few weeks ... a bit like an involuntary system restore .. IVE now relocated drivers etc. and I wonder why / how this happened so it doesn't happen again ... btw just installed Vista SP1 after nvidia drivers reinstallind

8 Ways to Make the Most of Your Trailer Hitch
So, you have a receiver hitch. Have you ever used it? Do you know how handy your trailer hitch can be, even if you don’t have a trailer to haul? What do you need to get the most out of your trailer hitch?
First. let’s talk about the receiver. It’s a square hole located below your bumper. it’s called a receiver because it “receives” the stuff you stick into it. Makes sense, right?
Your receiver is either 1.25 or 2 inches square. The smaller receivers are either class I or class II hitches depending on how much weight they can handle. The 2 inch receivers are class III, or IV; as the class number increases so do the weight limits. For example, a class I hitch can tow up to 2000 lbs. and handle up to 200 lbs. downward pressure on the actual hitch (that’s called tongue weight), while a class IV hitch can tow up to 10,000 lbs. and handle 1,000 to 1,200 lbs. tongue weight.
Equally important to the trailer hitch’s weight specifications are the towing specs for your vehicle. You can find these in your owner’s manual and they should always be respected. Overloading your trailer hitch will not only risk damage to your vehicle, but it will also make steering and braking more difficult, making you a danger on the road.
So, what can you do with your receiver hitch? Obviously, you can tow a trailer. If it falls under the weight specs for your hitch and vehicle, you’ll just need a ball mount and a hitch ball. The ball mount is the square metal shaft that slides into the receiver. The hitch ball mounts onto the ball mount and sticks out behind your vehicle when properly installed. You can tow cargo trailers, camping trailers, utility trailers, just about anything that you want.
Beyond towing, you can use your receiver hitch for cargo carriers, bike racks, boat carriers, ATV ramps, ski racks, hitch mounted grills, hitch steps, and to display your personality with a custom hitch cover.
The bike racks, cargo carriers, and ski racks are all generally mounted to a shaft that slides into your receiver. These racks offer great convenience as they allow you to safely carry bulky and/or dirty items outside your car. Many of them fold for easier access to the rear of your vehicle and to require less storage space. Sports racks and cargo carriers are a great use for your receiver hitch.
You can also get bed extenders and hitch mounted boat racks that allow you to put one end of a ladder or canoe on top of your pickup cab and support the other end with a rack that mounts to your hitch. Similarly, hitch mounted ramp supports are available to allow you to attach ramps to the back of your pickup so you can drive what ever you need to right into the bed without fear of damaging the tailgate.
A hitch mounted step is a great way to access the rear of your vehicle; they are simple to install and fold to be out of the way when you’re not using them. They often double as hitch covers which keep your receiver clean.
If you’re a tailgater, you will love a hitch mounted grill. Forget hauling the mess of a charcoal grill or dealing with the small rack on a portable grill; with a hitch mounted grill you can bring the comforts of your back patio with you–it’s easy and awesome. Even if you don’t go with a hitch grill, you’ll want a tailgater hitch cover. It displays the logo of your favorite team and has a built in bottle opener for your convenience.

If I make a trailer out of the rear half of an old pickup truck would it keep its original VIN #?
I am in the process of cutting an old pickup truck in half so that I can use the bed portion as a trailer. When I register it, would I use the existing VIN number from the old truck or would I be issued a new one for a homemade trailer?
u will have to get a reconstructed or modified title,,,,the vin only covers the original vehicle and not any modifications,,,,it will be totally separate issue
